In South Carolina, Medication Technicians serve an essential role within Community Residential Care Facilities (CRCFs) and Assisted Living settings. Unlike skilled nursing positions, this certificate focuses on supporting residents with the self‑administration of their medications in a compassionate, “surrogate family” style environment.

This certificate course prepares you to:
• Assist residents as they self‑administer prescribed medications
• Ensure medications are taken safely and on schedule
• Document medication assistance accurately
• Observe and report any concerns or potential side effects
• Provide supportive, resident‑centered care in a home‑like setting

Upon completion, you are qualified to work in Assisted Living Facilities and CRCFs throughout South Carolina.

Your Med Tech certificate is valid for two years.

Please note: Class dates may change based on registration.
